If there’s one thing I know, it’s that I’ve always been a fan of stuff that glowed. From those glowing star stickers that would be on the ceiling as a kid, to all manner of glowy stuff (gear, watches, and the like), I’m a fan. I also thing a tough watch for summer is a great idea, since it’s ready for anything. That means that G-Shock Hidden Glow Vol 2 collection is a home run in my book.
G-Shock Hidden Glow Vol 2: what it is
This is a set of six watches, all from lines we’ve seen before. You can opt to go fully digital, ana-digi, or (mostly) analog. What’s great with these is the color scheme that they’ve gone with. These feel very much ready for summer, with a primarily white base (band, case, dial) that is then offset by pops of a deep blue on bezels, handsets, and buttons. Feels like a perfect summer color scheme to me.
Furthermore, once the sun goes down (or you duck into a cool, dark movie theater), you’ll see that hidden glow come out. This is in the form of the dials, which glow in addition to the handset (for the analog models). And, because it’s G-Shock, you also still have the regular push-button illumination available.
What G-Shock says about the collection
Each timepiece within the six-piece collection features a captivating blue phosphorescent dial, crafted using resin components infused with phosphorescent material. This material, applied either across the entire dial or in select areas, emits a gentle blue glow in darkness, evoking the shimmering effect of plankton drifting through moonlit waters.
