SteelSeries is updating a fan favorite. The Rival 3 Gen 2 and Rival 3 Wireless Gen 2 are here, marking five years since the original Rival 3 hit desks and gaming setups. These new models keep the affordable price point but come with upgrades in speed, durability, and style.
The wired Rival 3 Gen 2 features ultra-low click latency of 1.35ms and an 8,500 DPI TrueMove Core optical sensor. It’s designed to respond fast and stay accurate, whether you’re snapping to targets or scrolling through spreadsheets. The switches are rated for 60 million clicks, and the 77g build keeps things light without feeling flimsy. There’s also a 360-degree Prism lighting ring under the chassis if you want some RGB flair.

The wireless version goes further. The Rival 3 Wireless Gen 2 bumps the sensor up to an 18,000 DPI TrueMove Air, keeps latency low at 1.9ms, and adds SteelSeries’ Quantum 2.0 Dual Wireless. That gives you two options: a 2.4GHz dongle for lag-free gaming or Bluetooth 5.0 for pairing with laptops, tablets, or work setups. You’ll get up to 200 hours of battery life over 2.4GHz or 450 hours on Bluetooth—enough to run for months without changing the single AAA battery it uses.
This generation also adds a few new looks. Alongside the classic black, the Rival 3 Gen 2 Wireless comes in lavender, aqua, and white. The wired version stays black for now.
At $34.99 for the wired and $59.99 for the wireless, SteelSeries is aiming to keep the Rival series the go-to choice for new gamers or anyone wanting solid performance without paying premium-tier prices. Both models are available now at SteelSeries.com.
